Mojca Erdmann

Mojca Erdmann (born December 29, 1975 in Hamburg ) is a German opera, concert and lied singer with a soprano voice . She appears as a Mozart singer and interpreter of contemporary music theater works.

Live and act

Her father is a professor of composition and a flautist. She took violin lessons from the age of six. She also sang in the children's choir of the Hamburg State Opera . At the age of 14 Erdmann received singing lessons from Evelyn Herlitzius . Then she studied singing at the University of Music and Dance in Cologne with Hans Sotin and Ingrid Figur .

As a student, Erdmann sang at the Komische Oper Berlin , the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the opera houses of Mannheim and Basel. In 2006 she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival with the title role in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Singspiel Zaide . A year later she sang the role of Zelmira in Haydn's Armida in Salzburg . In 2009 she sang the title role in the opera Proserpina by Wolfgang Rihm at the Schwetzingen Festival and in 2010 she sang Ariadne in the world premiere of Rihm's Dionysus at the Salzburg Festival . Erdmann made guest appearances at the music stages of Stuttgart, Vienna, Munich, Nice, Cologne, Baden-Baden etc. In October 2011 she made her debut at the Met in New York as Zerlina in Don Giovanni ; shortly afterwards she could be heard there as a forest bird in Siegfried . In 2012 she made her debut at the Berlin State Opera (venue at the Schillertheater ) in the title role in Alban Berg's Lulu . In 2014 she returned to the Salzburg Festival as Sophie im Rosenkavalier .

In addition to her stage presence, Mojca Erdmann is active worldwide as a song and concert singer. She guested u. a. at the music festivals in Schwarzenberg and Bad Kissingen . Together with the priests , she took part in the show “ Eurovision Song Contest 2013 - Our song for Malmö ” on February 14, 2013 with the song “ Meerstern, be greeted ” .
