Solveig Kringlebotn

Solveig Kringleborn (born June 4, 1963 in Frogn , Norway ), known outside of Norway by her stage name Solveig Kringelborn , is a Norwegian opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Kringelborn studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music and the Royal Academy for Opera in Stockholm. In 1987 she made her debut at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm. The artist has performed with the Berliner Philharmoniker , the Hollywood Bowl and the BBC Proms , at the festivals in Edinburgh , Glyndebourne and Salzburg , and in leading opera houses, including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden , the Opéra National de Paris , the Scala and the Vienna State Opera .

In September 2000, Kringelborn made her debut as Donna Elvira at the Metropolitan Opera , where she subsequently sang Tatiana in Eugen Onegin , Eva in Meistersingern von Nürnberg and Rosalinde in Fledermaus . In 2004 she sang Ariadne auf Naxos , her first role in Strauss , in Paris , where she performed Refka in the world premiere of Kaija Saariaho's opera Adriana Mater in 2006 and the Countess in Capriccio in 2007 .
