The Trinity College of Music in Greenwich , London is a music academy . It has been located in the former Royal Naval College building on the Thames since 2001 , partly designed by Sir Christopher Wren . The college also has a concert hall in Blackheath .

The Trinity College of Music was founded in 1872 in the Marylebone district of London by Henry George Nonavia Hunt to improve the education of church musicians. Initially, the college only accepted male students who also had to belong to the Church of England . Today the college has faculties for composition , early music , jazz , keyboard , string instruments , singing, as well as brass and percussion .
