Tell is a Swiss comedy by Mike Eschmann from 2007. The film opened in cinemas on November 22, 2007.

action

The film takes place in 1291. The Swiss are ready to take the last step to take the ultimate oath of revolution in a piece of forest when they are disturbed by their wives, because food and costume groups are more important than freedom in their own country. The German tourist Friedrich Schiller observes this and makes a careful note of everything.

Meanwhile, Wilhelm Tell has a completely different problem: He and his business partner Heidi bring a miracle drug onto the market that is supposed to prevent sagging breasts and orange peel. The business works fine until Heidi runs away with the money. Tell searches for Heidi and finds Eskimo Val-tah in the snow of the Swiss Alps. He fell into a snow hole and was saved by Tell. From now on Val-tah is Tell's constant companion.

Since Wilhelm Tell has an Austrian passport, but is actually Swiss, he is hired by insurgents to put their plan into practice. He is supposed to destroy the castle of the Austrian Gessler and the ultimate castle gate made there by the Swiss slaves. As a reward, he would receive the long-awaited Swiss passport. But that's easier said than done.

criticism

The planned provocation failed and the film flopped. Slacks, flat jokes, upright nonsense, awkward dialogues and broken punchlines were criticized.

The Lexicon of International Films says: “Anarcho-comedy from the drawing board that lacks wit, bite and timing. Even the well-known TV comedy stars cannot save the sedate story. "
