Life

Esther Gemsch (née Christinat) grew up with two sisters in Bremgarten near Bern . At the age of 16 she moved out of home. As a young woman, she was cast in the Belgian film Rue haute , followed by a leading role in the Swiss film Little Freeze Also in Summer and in the TV film Ice Cold Birds . In 1982 she played under the name Esther Christinat in Peter F. Bringmann's Die Heartbreakers . Esther Gemsch has played numerous roles in Swiss television films . But her breakthrough came with the soap opera Lüthi and Blanc , in which she played Lisbeth Rohner . Esther Gemsch is also active as a spokesperson for film and television, for advertising and dubbing.

Wedel scandal

In a report in the Hamburg weekly newspaper “Die Zeit” on January 25, 2018, Gemsch accused Dieter Wedel of trying to rape her in a hotel room on December 12, 1980. The actress, who was hired in 1980 for the series “The boards that mean the world”, is said to have been beaten and strangled by Wedel.
