Fri-Son ( Fri stands for Friborg, and Son is French and means sound; a pun on frisson dt shudder) is a music club in Friborg , Switzerland . The club is run by a bilingual non-profit association, which is led by a committee elected by the general assembly.

history

Fri-Son was founded in 1983 and found its place in a former citizens' hospital . The first events mainly consisted of a music program from punk rock , dark wave , funk and improvisational art. After being closed by the authorities , the club moved to an old industrial hall with two halls at 25 Rue de l'Industrie in 1985 . Other art forms such as dance or performance art were added to the already existing music program .

In 1987 Fri-Son moved into the former factory building Fonderie 13 , which today houses a large hall for up to 1200 people and a smaller hall called "Bobine" for up to 300 people as well as offices.

In the summer of 1999, some members of the Fri-Son association formed the Fonderie 13 cooperative, which bought and renovated the building and has since rented it to the Fri-Son association.

In addition to the music program, other events such as cinema screenings, table tennis tournaments and flea markets take place.
