Moderat is a Berlin music group that emerged in 2002 from the merger of the musician Apparat (Sascha Ring) and the DJ duo Modeselektor (Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary).

Career

Before they could release an album together, however, they separated again. It was not until 2009 that they brought out their debut album entitled Moderat after a new merger . The second album II was released in early August 2013 on Modeselektor's own label Monkeytown Records, in the USA the album was released on the Mute label. It hit the charts in Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and the UK. In Germany, it entered the album charts at number 10 in the first week after its release.

At the end of March 2016, the third album III was also released on Monkeytown Records.

After extensive tours and a. in France the band has announced that they will take a longer recreational break from September 2017.
