BPitch Control is a record label for electronic music founded in 1999 by Ellen Allien in Berlin .
history
The DJ and music producer Ellen Allien founded BPitch Control in 1999 after a series of parties as a platform for Berlin techno artists. The label's first artists included Allien, Paul Kalkbrenner (initially as Paul dB + ), Toktok , Sascha Funke , Modeselektor and Autotune . The first release was a volume. 01 titled EP with contributions from Rob Acid , Ellen Allien & Heiko Laux and Jammin 'Unit .
Since the mid-2000s, the label has been one of the most important Berlin technology labels.
The publications of the artist Paul Kalkbrenner contributed significantly to the level of awareness . Since the release of the soundtrack for the film Berlin Calling , which entered the album charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the label has also become known to a larger audience outside of the techno scene. In 2010 Kalkbrenner separated from BPitch Control and founded his own label Paul Kalkbrenner Musik .
The label operates its own booking and artist agencies and also offers numerous merchandising and fashion items.
The CI of the label was largely shaped by the designers of the scouting , who are responsible for the cover design, videos as well as the merchandising and fashion design.
The sub-label Spielwiese was founded in 2001 and another sub-label, Memo, was launched in 2005 , which included publications by the artists Ben Klock , Zander VT , Lee Van Dowski and Mark Broom .
