Cem Oral , also known by his pseudonyms Jammin 'Unit and G 104, is a German musician , label owner and mastering engineer . He was a member of the techno projects Air Liquide (1991–2005), Ultrahigh (1993–2003) and UMO (1996–2000).

Life

Oral was born in Germany to a Turkish father and a Finnish mother. His brother Can Oral (aka Khan ) is also a musician.

As a teenager he experimented for the first time with a 4-track recorder and synthesizers.

In 1991 he founded the band Air Liquide with Ingmar Koch , which existed until 2005. Together with Roger Cobernus , he also founded the Ultrahigh project in 1993 , which was also published under the project names Restgeraeusch , Titanium Steel Screws , Vene and Zulutronic . From 1992 he ran the Blue label with Koch and Jörg Burger , on which, among other things, his own projects such as Air Liquide, MFA, HEAD, GEF and Electronic Dub appeared. In 1995, he and his ultra-high partner Roger Cobernus founded the Pharma label in Frankfurt am Main , on which, in addition to productions by the two operators, works by the artists DMX Krew and Bad Street Boy appeared.

Oral also founded the UMO (Unidentified Musical Objects) project with Adel Hafsi and Terrible , which released three albums between 1996 and 2000.

He has been running the Jammin Masters recording studio since 1993 . Among other things, he supervised the mastering process of pieces of music by the bands and musicians Wu-Tang Clan , Michael Rother , George McCrae , Black Eyed Peas , Gwen Stefani , Nine Inch Nails , Mad Professor , Coldcut , Stereo Total , Mark Stewart , Daddy Freddy , Prong , Holger Czukay , FM Einheit , The Shamen , BVSMP , Captain Comatose , Oscar Sala , Kerosene , Die Haut , Vapor Space , Caspar Pound and Jay Haze .

Cem Oral lives and works in Berlin .
