The Tallest Man on Earth (born April 30, 1983 in Dalarna , Sweden ) is the pseudonym of the folk rock musician Kristian Matsson and at the same time an allusion to his small body size.

Live and act

His music is often compared to that of early Bob Dylan . Matsson himself, who was already on stage live at the age of 15, cites Dylan as well as Feist , Bon Iver , Okkervil River and the Avett Brothers as important influences for his musical development.

His first album was the 2006 EP The Tallest Man on Earth . But it wasn't until 2008 that Matsson became known to a larger audience through a review of his debut album Shallow Grave on Pitchfork and his subsequent tour as the opening act for Bon Iver .

In April 2010 the release of his second album The Wild Hunt followed . The recordings for this album were made almost exclusively on tour and were not professionally produced, but recorded in different locations without a recording studio. While he was releasing his two previous albums on the Swedish indie record label Gravitation , he commissioned the American label Dead Oceans to distribute The Wild Hunt .

Kristian Matsson is also the former singer of The Montezumas , with whom he released an album in 2006 called Montezumas .
