Daughter is a British indie folk - band that in 2010 London was founded. From an initial solo project by Elena Tonra, a trio emerged in which guitarist Igor Haefeli and drummer Remi Aguilella joined.

In 2013, the band's first album, If You Leave , was released on March 18 . It reached number 16 in the British album charts and number 88 in the German charts. On January 16, 2016, the second album Not To Disappear was released , just like its predecessor on the 4AD label . Doing The Right Thing was the first single. In September 2017, the band gained greater fame with the release of their album Music from Before The Storm , which served as the soundtrack for the 3D adventure Life Is Strange: Before The Storm .

The style of Daughter was described by the Musikexpress as "slow-motion and empty space pop" similar to The XX , but where "the arrangement leads deep into the fairytale forest of the daughter label 4AD ", such as with the Cocteau Twins .

In November 2018 Elena Tonra announced her solo debut album called 'Ex: Re'. On November 26th, the album's first single called 'Romance' was released on Youtube. The album named after the project was released in early February 2019 and reached number 88 in the UK charts.
