Angus & Julia Stone are a sibling duo from Newport , Australia . At a very young age, they joined the school band led by their father. There Julia played the trumpet, Angus the trombone and her older sister Catherine the saxophone.

They first appeared in 2006 with their EP Chocolate and Cigarettes (Independiente Records). They are now under contract with EMI . They play a mix of folk and blues . Their song Big Jet Plane took first place at Triple J's Hottest 100 in 2010. The first three studio albums went platinum in Australia , and Down the Way even three times. The single Big Jet Plane was also awarded platinum.
