Wiener Blonde is an Austrian beatbox - Pop duo from Vienna consisting of Verena Doublier and Sebastian radon in Vienna dialect singing.

history

Sebastian Radon (* in Vienna ) spent the first four years in Südstadt , after which the family moved to Achau . He completed the lower school in Keimgasse in Mödling , then attended the Vienna Music High School . From 1999 to 2003 he was a member of the Gumpoldskirchner Spatzen . He studied vocal pedagogy at the Institute for Popular Music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna , where he met Verena Doublier. In 2013 he appeared in Der böse Geist Lumpazivagabundus or Das liederliche Kleeblatt at the Vienna Burgtheater and at the Salzburg Festival . In 2015 he played in the episode Braked Out of the TV series SOKO Donau .

Verena Doublier took part in the Kiddy Contest in 2002 with Blackout on TV , a cover version of From Sarah with Love , where she took second place. From 2005 to 2009 she was a member of the a cappella group MAUF, which she co-founded . During her studies of vocal pedagogy at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, she met Sebastian Radon. In 2012 the two founded the Wiener Blond duo , with whom they have been presenting their own texts and compositions ever since.

They performed at the Orpheum Vienna , at the Casino on Schwarzenbergplatz of the Vienna Burgtheater , at the Vienna Metropol , at the Theater am Spittelberg, at the Vienna Kulisse , in the Vienna Konzerthaus and at the Vienna Danube Island Festival .

In February 2015 they took second place behind the band Rammelhof with Kaana Waas Why in the protest song contest . In March 2015 they released their debut album The Last Emperor . They were also shown on ARD in 2015 in the Schwabing clubhouse . In 2016 the second album followed, entitled Zwa , which they presented in November with two concerts at the Wiener Musikverein .

In January 2019 they premiered with Quasi Jedermann - Helmut Qualtinger , the human imitator for whom they also wrote the music, under the direction of Christina Tscharyiski at the Lower Austria State Theater. In 2019, they were seen on ORF in the television program Pratersterne presented by Hosea Ratschiller . In 2019 the live album was finally released! in cooperation with the Original Wiener Salonensemble , including their fellow student Anna Starzinger on the cello, which they presented again in November at the Wiener Musikverein.

As part of the Amadeus Awards 2020 , they were nominated in the Jazz / World / Blues category.
