Anna Starzinger (born July 18, 1989 in Vienna ) is an Austrian cellist , actress and composer .

Life

Anna Starzinger is the daughter of an Austrian and the Algerian percussionist Guem . Starzinger began composing and playing the cello at the age of five. In June 2008 she graduated with distinction from the Musikgymnasium Vienna and began her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna , which she graduated with distinction in March 2013. During her first year of study, she was engaged by the Burgtheater Vienna as a musician in the production Das Leben ein Traum (director: Karin Beier ). Since the following season 2009/10 Anna Starzinger was engaged as a guest at the Burgtheater Vienna - initially in the production Eine Familie (director: Alvis Hermanis ) in which she worked as an actress, cellist and composer alongside Kirsten Dene , Michael König , Dörte Lyssewski , Dorothee Hartinger , Sylvie Rohrer , Dietmar König , Roland Kenda , Sarah Viktoria Frick and Barbara Petritsch . She then became a Würgeengel for the production . A masochistic comedy (director: Martin Wuttke ), also engaged as an actress and musician at the Burgtheater Vienna and played here with Ignaz Kirchner , Peter Matić , Maria Happel , Catrin Striebeck , Stefanie Dvorak , Yohanna Schwertfeger , Agnes Palmisano , Adina Vetter , Lucas Gregorowicz , Oliver Masucci .

In addition, Starzinger worked as a freelance film actress, including in the short film Lautlos (directed by David Czifer and Siegmund Skalar), which was played on the Austrian broadcaster Okto. In the short film Lautlos she played the female lead alongside Klaus Ofczarek , Peter Fernbach composed the film music and recorded it as a soloist.

In summer 2012, Anna Starzinger had in the course of the Festival Reichenau the musical direction and arrangement of the staged by Maria Happel Nestroy piece Earlier ratios occupied.

As a band musician, she appears regularly with Gary Howard ( Flying Pickets ) and with the Austrian bands Salomon's Wrong Choice Alien Hand Syndrome . Anna Starzinger also works as a cello teacher and freelance violoncellist. With the Original Wiener Salonensemble she performed in the Wiener Konzerthaus, in the Wiener Musikverein, as well as in the ORF show "Wir sind Kaiser".

Anna Starzinger appears as the solo cellist in the movie Wir töten Stella (director: Julian Pölsler ).

In 2018 Anna Starzinger is on tour with the Austrian band Wanda as a guest musician.
