Klaus Ofczarek
Klaus Ofczarek (born March 17, 1939 in Vienna ; † December 6, 2020 there ) was an Austrian actor and opera singer (tenor).
Life
Klaus Ofczarek attended Otto Glöckel School in the 1950s and then studied acting and singing at the Vienna Conservatory in addition to commercial training .
He received engagements at the Vienna Chamber Opera , the Stadttheater St. Pölten and St. Gallen and the Graz Opera House . Tours took the artist through the USA . He has made several guest appearances in Frankfurt , Bern and at the Vienna Volksoper .
Ofczarek has worked in several television productions, including Polt , Kommissar Rex , Julia - Die Dorfrichterin , Trautmann, as well as in the television film Die Gottesanbeterin and in the movie Klimt (with John Malkovich).
From 1990 Ofczarek was a member of the ensemble of the Vienna Volksoper and could be seen as Doolittle in My Fair Lady , as circus director in The Bartered Bride , as a notary in La Périchole , as Conte Carnero in the Zigeunerbaron , as Lindoberer in Der fidele Bauer , as Süffle in The bird dealer , as Prince Populescu in Countess Mariza , as Lieutenant Cabinet in West Side Story , as Giesecke in the operetta Im Weißen Rössl , as Barbaruccio in One Night in Venice , as Prince Ypsheim in Viennese Blood, as Tihanyi / King Pankraz in The Duchess of Chicago , as Rabbi in Anatevka , as Prybil in The Count of Luxembourg , as Edouard Dindon in La Cage aux Folles and as General Director Eiler in The Drama Director .
At the Vienna State Opera he was seen in the 2005/06 season as medical advisor in Lulu . In the 2007/08 season Klaus Ofczarek performed at the Vienna Volksoper as Graf de la Tour in Der Opernball , as Siggi Gross in Die Csárdásfürstin and as Wachtmeister in Anatevka .
Ofczarek was married to the opera singer Roberta Ofczarek. Their son is the actor Nicholas Ofczarek .
