Flowers for Polt is an Austrian crime film from 2001. The film is based on a novel by the Austrian author Alfred Komarek and his main character, the gendarmerie inspector Simon Polt .

action

Two tragic accidents happened in Brunndorf. The accidental death of Rudi Riebl does not come as a surprise, as he has made it a habit to ambush drunkards and throw himself in front of their car with his moped - with the aim of claiming compensation, of course. The second accident overtakes the disabled Willi, Polt's friend. He falls to his death.

Polt investigates and his doubts about the authenticity of the accidents increase.

Production and publication

The film was produced in 2001 by Teamfilm Wien under the direction of Julian Pölsler and broadcast on ORF . The music was composed by Hans-Jürgen Buchner .

Awards

Flowers for Polt was invited to the Baden-Baden TV Film Festival in 2002. Erwin Steinhauer received a special prize for outstanding performance there. The following year the film was nominated for the Adolf Grimme Prize .
