Heinz Frölich

Heinz Frölich (born May 11, 1908 in Gotha ; † August 14, 2004 in Purkersdorf ) was a German actor .

Life

Heinz Frölich completed his training as an actor at the State Music Academy in Weimar. Stations in his theater career included stages in Berlin, Bern, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Wuppertal. In 1973, at the age of 65, he accepted an engagement at the Vienna Burgtheater , to which he belonged until his death.

Frölich has appeared in over 80 roles in his 30 years at the castle. In the 2003/04 season, at the age of 95, he was still on stage in three plays: As Melvil in Maria Stuart , as Valentin in Was ihr wollt by William Shakespeare and alongside Gusti Wolf in Botho Strauss ' Der Narr und seine Frau heute evening in Pancomedia .

In 1956 Heinz Frölich acted in the film Joe Hill, the man who never died for the first time in front of the camera. A number of other tasks followed in films and series such as B. John Klings Adventures or Father Brown . Frölich played his last role in 2004 in the Tatort episode The Guardian of the Source .

Heinz Frölich had German citizenship throughout his life, but received two high Austrian awards. He was married to fellow actor Änne Bruck until her death in 1978 .
