Helmut Hellstorff

Helmut Hellstorff (born May 9, 1923 in Nieder-Lindewiese , Czechoslovakia) is a German radio play director and actor.

Life

Helmut Hellstorff completed his training as an actor in Vienna and Brno before making his theater debut in Mährisch-Ostrau in 1941 . After 1945 he started working as a stage and radio worker in Hamburg. Finally he moved to Schwerin in 1948 , later to Eisenach and from 1954 to East Berlin .

Hellstorff is one of the most productive radio play directors of the former GDR radio station at the State Committee for Radio and Television. He was active there for about 35 years. According to HörDat , he was involved in over 200 productions that were carried out between 1956 and 1991, the year when the GDR radio station succeeded it.

In the 1960s, in addition to directing, he also acted as an actor in television plays and films. Among other things, he participated in Police Call 110 . He is married to the actress Sabine Hellstorff (graduate of the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art. Participation in numerous theater, radio, film and TV productions).
