Peter Karvaš

Peter Karvaš (born April 25, 1920 in Banská Bystrica , † November 28, 1999 in Bratislava ) was a Slovak writer.

He was a philosopher , theater scholar , dramaturge and diplomat . In 1968 he was banned from publication due to the Prague Spring . Karvaš was best known for his pieces, of which the midnight mass was also played with success in Germany. There is also an equally remarkable prose work and numerous theoretical works in the field of theater studies and philosophy .
