The swing ditch is a brook in the southeast of Leipzig . In terms of water law, it is a second order body of water .
The swing ditch begins south of the Liebertwolkwitz district of Leipzig , near the S242 motorway feeder to the Leipzig-Südost junction of the A 38 . On a map from 1934 this area is called Grundwiese .
On its way to the northeast, the swing ditch crosses the Liebertwolkwitzer Muldentalstraße near the railway bridge. 300 meters afterwards he takes up the owl trench coming from the south. After turning north, it flows into the Pösgraben shortly before Naunhofer Landstrasse .
With the incorporation of Liebertwolkwitz into Leipzig in 1999, the Schaukelgraben became a river of Leipzig. The length of the swing ditch is 3.46 kilometers. It runs entirely within the city of Leipzig. The swing ditch is not always water-bearing.
