The Threne is a left tributary of the Parthe in Saxony . It has a catchment area of 47.2 km² and is about 11.3 kilometers long (with Pösgraben about 13.7 kilometers).
course
The Threne rises in the Belgershain district of Threna in the Leipzig district and initially flows eastwards towards Köhra . Before Köhra, it changes its direction of flow to the northeast to the Naunhof waterworks 2 and turns northwest towards Kleinpösna and takes up the marrow ditch on the left. To the north of Fuchshain , the Threne roughly changes its main direction of flow to north for the last time.
After crossing under the A 38 between Kleinpösna and Albrechtshain , the Threne flows about 600 meters above Leipzig's urban area, where it joins the Langgraben from the left and the Mittelgraben from the right. Then it crosses under the A 14 and to the west of the Beucha district of Wolfshain takes the Insterbruchgraben and the Pösgraben from the left, which is about 2.4 kilometers longer than the Threne at the confluence. The Threne finally flows into the Parthe on the left in the Borsdorf district of Zweenfurth .
