The Zickmantelsche Mühlgraben is a tributary of the Knauthainer Elstermühlgraben and the part of an old arm of the White Elster in Leipzig through which it flows today . It is 980 meters long and a permanent water-bearing flowing water of the 2nd order .
In 1854, the Zickmantelsche Mühlgraben was still called "Der Elster-Mühlgraben". Today it is largely lined with allotment gardens and has banks that are strongly anthropogenically shaped. The five to ten meter wide body of water has only a very low flow rate, so that no current can be observed.
course
The Zickmantelsche Mühlgraben begins today as a piped diversion from the White Elster shortly before the Großzschocher weir . The pipeline, which is around 170 meters long, flows southwest of the allotment garden association "Am Badeweg" into the part of an old Elster arm, which is still water-bearing today. It runs northeast in the first third of its length, then turns to north-northwest and maintains this direction until it joins the Knauthainer Elstermühlgraben.
After about half of its course, the Zickmantelsche Mühlgraben meanders in a bend in the river and reaches the Anton Zickmantel Park. There it feeds the pond and empties about 60 meters after the park.
