The Leinegraben (sometimes also the Leine ) is a stream in the south of Leipzig . It flows in an east-west direction from Meusdorf to Dölitz and is a tributary of the Pleiße . In terms of water law, it is a second order body of water .

course

The Leinegraben rises in the Meusdorf district of Leipzig in a wood near the confluence of the Altdorferweg and Logauweg and flows along the Logauweg into the Meusdorf pond behind the former old sheep farm. After leaving the pond, he passes under Chemnitzer Strasse near the Leipzig penal institution . Then it flows through the park of the former park hospital Leipzig-Dosen . In a broad meadow valley with passing under the road Dösner it reaches the former village dozing . Now he always keeps along the Leinestrasse until it disappears in a pipeline at the level of Newtonstrasse. This piping has existed since 1889. It is routed underground to the Mühlpleiße .

The length of the Leine trench is 4.26 kilometers, of which 765 meters are piped.

additional

In connection with the revitalization measures at Meusdorfer Teich in 2000, the Leipzig Environmental Protection Agency had the Leinegraben desludged and the spring system repaired.
