Emanuel Gottlieb Licht (born June 8, 1742 in Eichberg; † February 13, 1811 in Gieshof near Ortwig ) was the dike captain in the Oderbruch .

Life

His father was the pastor Gottlieb Licht († May 3, 1756) zu Eichberg (now Polish: Dębogóra) near Filehne , who had caused many colonists to move to Neulewin in the Oderbruch . As a result, he drew the disfavor of his landlord, the Polish prince Johann Sapieha , who wanted to put him prisoner.

Emanuel Gottlieb Licht was the dike and ditch inspector in the Havelländisches Luch , was appointed dike captain in the Oderbruch on April 12, 1797 and held this office until 1811.

His son Paul Friedrich Gotthold (born December 9, 1779 - June 10, 1865) was the dike inspector of the Oderbruch from 1840 to 1850.
