Ortwig is a district of the Letschin municipality in the Märkisch-Oderland district in Brandenburg . It lies in the Oderbruch . The local mayor is Günter Sternekiecker.

The place is north of the main town. The Oder flows east of Ortwig and is also the state border with Poland there . State road 336 runs through the village .
history
It is known that the village was built as a Wendish settlement in the sixth century . The Wends cleared, dammed the settlement area and drained the area. So there were craftsmen and traders settle. The village, which was built as a round village at that time , received its current form in the Germanic settlement era. It was first mentioned in a document as "villas Othwick" in 1349.
Incorporation
On October 26, 2003, Ortwig was incorporated into Letschin.
