Werner Köddermann (born October 1, 1946 ) is a former German soccer player . The goalkeeper played five Bundesliga soccer games for Borussia Dortmund in the 1967/68 season .

Career

Werner Köddermann played at BVB when he was young and was used twice by the DFB in the national student team in April 1962 in the international matches against England (2: 1) and Wales (0: 0). For the 1967/68 season he was taken over by the amateur team in the professional squad when Hans Tilkowski had switched to Eintracht Frankfurt. The young goalkeeper from within his own ranks was the substitute for regular goalkeeper Bernhard Wessel . As more newcomers came to the team coached by Heinz Murach still Klaus Brakelmann and Joseph Hofmeister . In January 1968 Köddermann made his debut in a home game against MSV Duisburg in a 4-3 victory in the Bundesliga. The defense was formed by Gerd Peehs , Theo Redder , Dieter Kurrat , Rudolf Assauer and Wilhelm Sturm . This was immediately followed by the two further missions against Alemannia Aachen (0: 3) and the 3: 1 home win on January 20 against Hannover 96, where two other defensive players participated in Gerhard Cyliax and Wolfgang Paul . In the fourth Bundesliga assignment he lost with Dortmund 4-1 at Eintracht Frankfurt before he played his last Bundesliga game with the fifth league game on March 23, 1968, a 3-1 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach. He completed all five games under coach Murach; when he was replaced by Oswald Pfau on April 18, 1968 , he was no longer used. Köddermann was used in five Bundesliga games for Dortmund and received twelve goals in these, but Borussia finished three of these five games victorious. On January 28, 1968, he was also in the DFB Cup game against VfB Oldenburg (3-2) in the goal of Dortmund. For the 1968/69 season, Dortmund signed another goalkeeper, Klaus Günther, and Köddermann joined the second-class Regionalliga West Eintracht Gelsenkirchen, where coach Murach had landed.

On the second round match day, August 25, 1968, with a 3-1 away win at Viktoria Köln, the Dortmund player made his debut in the Regionalliga West. He completed 17 league games at Eintracht, but rose to the side of teammates like Günter Schwaba , Werner Kontny , Willi Koslowski and Wolfgang Thier in the amateur camp. The performance-reducing circumstances surrounding Willi Kraus' personnel and the deductions of six points due to the player's participation in the successes against Eintracht Duisburg (2: 1), Viktoria Köln (3: 1) and TSV Marl-Hüls (4: 0) were decisive for the relegation of Eintracht Gelsenkirchen.
