Michael König (actor)

Michael König (born March 26, 1947 in Munich ) is a German actor and radio play speaker .

Life

Michael König completed an apprenticeship at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich. He received his first theater engagement in 1966 at the Münchner Kammerspiele , where he has always returned. From 1970 König belonged to the core of the ensemble of the Berlin Schaubühne . There he worked in numerous productions under Peter Stein, Andrea Breth and others. The Salzburg Festival was another stage in his theater career in 2002; today Michael König is a member of the ensemble at the Burgtheater in Vienna .

Between theater roles, he has since appeared in more than 50 television and countless radio productions, including as Commissario Brunetti in the radio play versions of Donna Leon's first Brunetti novels . He also worked as a voice actor. He is married to Claudia König (née Schaeffer), has a daughter from his first marriage to the actress Grischa Huber and four children from his second marriage.

Awards

In 1970 Michael König was awarded the Federal Film Prize for his role as Lenz in the George Moorse film of the same name .
