The Emperor of Schexing

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Der Kaiser von Schexing - A Mayor from Bavaria was a Bavarian television series and in-house production by Bayerischer Rundfunk , which takes place in the fictional municipality of Markt Schexing in the Ebersberg district . The director was Franz Xaver Bogner , who had the idea for the series and wrote most of the scripts. Other screenwriters were Christian Lerch (three episodes), Frank Müller (six episodes) and Anne Blume (three episodes).

The series was produced in the BR studios in Unterföhring as well as in Rain and in Markt Isen .

content

The focus of the series is on Andreas “Andi” Kaiser (Dieter Fischer). Born in Schexing, driven away by his stubborn, extremely rich and dominant father, he roamed the world for 15 years. He returns just as his hometown Schexing is looking for a mayor. There are no suitable candidates and so city treasurer Hermann Nelz (Gerd Anthoff) and managing director Rosi Specht (Dorothee Hartinger) heave the returned son into office. “Andi” Kaiser is supposed to be her puppet and will be her greatest challenge, because he solves problems in his own unconventional way and thus not only gets into trouble in Schexing, but also with higher politics, e.g. B. negotiates with the district administrator. This is why Kaiser often appears naive and amateurish, but towards the end of the episode it usually becomes apparent that he can circumnavigate all cliffs.

Locations

The series was filmed in Studio II of Bayerischer Rundfunk in Unterföhring and in Rain. The town hall of Schexing, which is the real town hall, the market square and the Hummelwirt (in reality the “Ratsbrauerei Zum Bäuml”) are located in Rain.

Interior shots were shot in Isen . Isen is also the fictional place Schexing per se. In the episode "Ascension" the area around Schexing is shown on a map. Here Isen is marked as Schexing. However, Isen is in the district of Erding, not like Schexing in the district of Ebersberg. Several locations in Isen were used as shooting locations, for example the entrance to Erdinger Strasse and the center of the town when car traffic was recorded. The Herrmannsdorfer Landwerkstätten served as the backdrop for the “Schexhof” .

music

For this series, Bogner worked again with Haindling (Hans-Jürgen Buchner), who was responsible for the background music for Bogner's series Irgendwie und Sowieso , Zur Freiheit and Café perjury .
