Alesia Graf (born October 14, 1980 in Gomel , Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic , Soviet Union as Alessja Klimowitsch ( Belarusian Алеся Клімовіч )) is a German boxer of Belarusian origin in super bantamweight .

Career

Alesia Graf came to Germany in 1999. She has been using the Graf family name since marrying in 2002. She has been a German citizen since November 28, 2008.

Alesia Graf started boxing in 2001. After three years as an amateur boxer, she became International German Champion in 2003, which led to an offer from the Hamburg boxing team Universum Boxpromotion Hamburg . After initially choosing to study sports, she then decided to focus on a career as a professional boxer. Her professional debut took place on February 14, 2004. Graf's ring name is "The Tigress" (The Tigress), it is trained in Stuttgart by Heinz Schultz and in Hamburg by Valentin Silaghi .

She suffered her first loss in May 2005 on points against the Jamaican Alicia Ashley. In February 2006 Alesia Graf won the GBU world title, and in March 2008 the WIBF world title. In the fight for the WBC world title, she lost in Mexico City in September 2010 over ten rounds on points against the Mexican Ana Maria Torres. In December 2012, Alesia Graf won against Liliana Martinez in Stuttgart and defended her WBF world title.

Alisia Graf starred in the 2016 documentary Punch Line - A woman gets into the ring by Kati Zambito .
