Kati Zambito (born January 14, 1979 in Bad Cannstatt , Germany) is an Italian - Portuguese - German actress , director and screenwriter . Zambito, who lives in Vienna and Stuttgart , grew up trilingual in Germany and Portugal (German, Italian, Portuguese). She became known through the documentary Punch Line - A woman climbs into the ring (2016).

Life

Her formal training as an actress began in 1995 with the theater group "O recado" in Montijo , Portugal , where she acquired basic acting skills from Antonio Igrejas and Dário Valente. 2000–2001 she took acting lessons with Katja Kandel in Stuttgart. She also gained acting practice at Theater JC in the center of Stuttgart. Kati Zambito has been a recognized actress at Sindicato de Actores in Portugal since 2004. From 2006 to 2010 she took additional speaking and acting lessons with Marika Adam in Vienna. She also holds an MA in Portuguese, German and English translation from the University of Vienna and is a language teacher for English. In addition, she also speaks French and Spanish.

As a tribal fusion dancer , Kati Zambito has been representing a younger and unconventional direction of belly dance since 2009, in which the movements, costumes and music are borrowed from different cultures. Her first dance video in tribal fusion style was produced by DREHSTROM Christian Hörlesberger Filmproduktion. The film was shot in June 2013 in the Vienna Weltmuseum . The video is called Fátima Di Mehra - Music of the Mask (Remake) and tells the story of the statue of Fátima, the youngest warrior and dancer of the Mehra tribe - exhibited in a museum that comes to life every evening, about the story of her last Battle to tell.

In addition to dancing, Kati Zambito has been a boxer since 2008 . Due to her acting career, she only joined the squad of the Austrian boxing club Bounce in May 2015, where professional boxer Marcos Nader also trains. In Punch Line - A woman gets into the ring , a documentary film produced by Daniela Praher and ORF, Zambito processes her experiences as an athlete and directed it herself for the first time. The film was shot in 2016 in Vienna , Germany and Portugal . The film was first broadcast on ORF in July 2016 . The first broadcast in Germany was on March 6, 2017 on 3sat.

Kati Zambito starred in Karl Markovics ' second movie Superwelt , which premiered at the Berlinale 2015, and in the movie Blockbuster - Life is a Film , the German premiere of which took place at the 50th Hof International Film Festival.
