Yohanna Schwertfeger (* 1982 ) is a German actress .

Life

After graduating from high school , Yohanna Schwertfeger first studied literature in Konstanz for a year . In 2003 she began studying acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna , completing her studies in 2007. She received role lessons from Klaus Maria Brandauer and Grazyna Dylag.

While still a student she was engaged at the Schauspielhaus Zürich until 2009 , where she worked with Peter Zadek , Jürgen Gosch and Matthias Hartmann , among others . From 2009 to 2013 she was a member of the ensemble at the Burgtheater in Vienna , where she appeared as Rahel in Die Jüdin von Toledo , as Eve in Der zerbrochne Krug , as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet , as Natascha in War and Peace , as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz and on stage as Marja Efimowna Grekowa in Platonow . Artistic director Wilfried Schulz brought her to the Staatsschauspiel Dresden in 2013 , where she was engaged until 2016 and, for example, embodied Marianne in Tales from the Vienna Woods , the viola in Was ihr wollt , Mascha in Drei Schwestern and Kriemhild in Die Nibelungen .

At the Schauspiel Frankfurt she played the role of Princess Natalie of Oranien in Prince Friedrich von Homburg in the 2016/17 season under the direction of Michael Thalheimer . She has been a guest at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus since 2016/17 , where she was in the stage version of Fellini's Ship of Dreams as Lady Violet, as Nastassja Filippowna Baraschkowa in Der Idiot , as Lona Hessel in Stützen der Gesellschaft von Henrik Ibsen , as Anna in Welcome from Lutz Hübner and to be seen as Caesonia in Caligula . She made her debut at the Salzburg Festival in 2019 in Molnar's Liliom as Marie. In this role she also premiered at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg in September 2019 .

Movie and TV

In 2014 she played the role of Sophie Hess in the television film Eine Liebe für den Frieden - Bertha von Suttner and Alfred Nobel by Urs Egger , opposite Sebastian Koch , and in 2015 she played the role of Kerstin Bachmann in the television series Altes Geld by David Schalko .

Awards and nominations

In 2009 she was nominated as the best young actress by the theater magazine Theater heute , followed in 2015 by a nomination as best actress for her portrayal of Masha in Three Sisters .
