The Hofmark Chieming was a Hofmark based in Chieming , today a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Traunstein .

history

A Hofmark in Chieming was first mentioned in the country table of Duke George the Rich (1479–1503). In 1523 there was talk of a seat "zue new Khiemgey".

In 1534 , Duke Wilhelm IV granted the mining entrepreneur Niklas Ribeisen , who had Neuenchieming Castle built, freedom of the court and jurisdiction . Riebeisen's step-sons from his second marriage to Elisabeth Pflügl and other owners followed as Hofmark owners. In 1640 the Hofmark went to Baumburg Abbey .

Due to the secularization in Bavaria in 1802/03 the manorial rule of the Baumburg monastery ended and the Hofmark Chieming was assigned to the district court of Traunstein .
