Neuenchieming Castle is a former castle in Chieming directly on the Chiemsee . Today it is used as a residential building.

history

A Hofmark in Chieming is mentioned for the first time in the country table of Duke Georg the Rich (1479–1503). In 1523 one speaks of a seat "zue new Khiemgey". After the purchase on October 1, 1530, a new castle was built in place of the desolate complex under the court lord Niklas Ribeisen , doctor of rights and confidante of the Archbishop of Salzburg . In 1540, Duke Wilhelm granted him Hofmarkrecht with lower jurisdiction. In 1564 Neuenchieming sold his inheritance to Anton Rehlinger, an entrepreneur from Augsburg. From 1604 to 1803 the castle and the Hofmark were then owned by the Baumburg monastery . Until 1965 the building was used as a vicarage used, since then it has been privately owned.
