history

The former ducal hunting lodge with house chapel was built in 1587 by Martin Raffler for Duke Wilhelm V. The transversely connected chapel was changed in 1656, the main building was later revised in a neo-Gothic style. The Bartholomäus-Schmucker-Heimatmuseum, which has been located in the rooms of the former hunting lodge since 1972, shows a collection of paintings, uniforms, traditional costumes, jewelry, tools, clocks, flags, carvings, old farmhouse furniture, glass and porcelain as well as sacred items over two floors Objects. The museum is mainly based on the collection of the mayor of Ruhpolding, Bartholomäus Schmucker, who died in 1950.
