The castle Baumburg is an Outbound High Middle Spur castle at 543  m above sea level. NHN on a ridge that slopes steeply to the mouth of the Traun at the site of the Baumburg monastery near Altenmarkt an der Alz in the Traunstein district in Bavaria .

The castle was built by the Lords of Sigharding ( Sieghardinger ) and converted into a monastery around 1020. Nothing has been preserved from the former castle complex. The Burgstall is now a ground monument .
