Schedling Castle
The Schedling castle in Trostberg (Schedling 6) is a former Hofmarksschloss and now serves as a school . It is a monument according to the Bavarian Monument Protection Act.
history
In 1403 Hans Schedlinger is mentioned in the Toerringischen fief book as the owner of the Schedling seat, which subsequently formed a small Hofmark together with Niedertrostberg until 1833 . In 1855 both castles were sold to the Trostberg community by Count Sigmund Berchem von Piesing. In 1862 an institute of the English Misses was established in Schedling Castle , which was closed in 1998. The city took over the castle, school and garden again. The rose garden was officially opened in 2004.
architecture
The broad, three-storey structure is essentially late Gothic; the wing with St. Joseph's Chapel, built later to the north-west, is marked on the ceiling with 1779.
