The Postal Tengling is an Outbound Spur castle hillside spur location on 506 m above sea level. NHN above the hamlet of Burg , a district of the municipality of Taching am See in the Traunstein district in Bavaria .
The three-part castle section was probably built around 1050 and was the ancestral seat of the Counts of Tengling . After the Tenglingen counts died out in 1146, the castle was abandoned and converted into the Maria Burg church. The castle church was rebuilt in 1532 after a fire as a pilgrimage church in late Gothic style.
The castle complex was divided into a core castle in the east and two upstream outer castles, separated and protected by a moat combination. The Burgstall is now a ground monument .
