geography

Geographical location

Taching is west of the Tachinger See opposite Tettenhausen. The designation “by the lake” is still geographically acceptable, although the lowering of the Achen, which flows out of the southern end of the lake at Petting, caused the lake level to drop by two meters in 1867, so that Taching has now moved slightly away from the lake shore. So now only the campsite with the lido restaurant and the leisure and recreation facilities with lido and sports field are in the immediate vicinity of the lake. The Tengling district is located north of the Tachinger See.

Taching am See has 55 districts:

history

Until the church is planted

Merovingian row graves have been found in the Taching area . The first written evidence from the 10th century indicates that the Sieghardinger owned it. The church with the patronage of St. Peter could also come from this time , which was a branch church of Waging until 1896 and then became an independent parish. The church stood near Taching Castle , the predecessor of today's Berglerhof.

Taching am See had belonged to the Prince Diocese of Salzburg since 1275 and was the seat of an executive committee . During the secularization (1803) it fell to the Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany , 1805 ( Peace of Pressburg ) to Austria, which had to cede it to Bavaria in 1809/10. Taching became an independent municipality in 1818.

20th century

In 1972 Taching became part of an administrative partnership. The place developed into an important resort and holiday resort in the 20th century.

Incorporations

On May 1, 1978, the previously independent municipality of Tengling was incorporated.
