history

Until the churches are founded

Seeon was first in 924 with the founding of the Benedictine - monastery Seeon mentioned and belonged as a closed Hofmark to 1803 for dominion of the monastery.

Seebruck was founded in 50 AD and was an important place under the name of Bedaium in Roman times. It served as a base on the highway from Salzburg to Augsburg and was shown as such in the Tabula Peutingeriana . The parish church of St. Thomas and St. Stephan was built between 1474 and 1478 and stands on the site of the former Roman fort .

The local nobles of Truchtlachingen were ministerials to the Archbishop of Salzburg and the Counts of Kraiburg and the Count Palatine of Bavaria. In 1347 they were given the right to collect tariffs at the Alzbrücke. Later Truchtlaching was a closed Hofmark of the Baumburg monastery , which was dissolved with him in 1803.

Seebruck, Seeon and Truchtlaching became independent political communities in the course of administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1818 .

In the course of the regional reform , the three municipalities merged on January 1, 1980. In the course of this community formation, Seebruck and Truchtlaching were released from the administrative community Chieming and Seeon from the administrative community Obing .

coat of arms

Blazon : “Under a blue head of a shield , inside a silver bridge , split over silver waves ; in front in silver from a black three-mountain growing a red sea leaf on a curved stem, behind in red a curved and winged silver fish . "

“The three-part municipal coat of arms documents the formation of the Seeon-Seebruck municipality in 1980 from the formerly independent municipalities of Seeon, Seebruck and Truchtlaching. The bridge over the waves in the Schildhaupt is taken from the earlier Seebruck coat of arms as the image that speaks for the community name. The front of the Seeblatt growing out of the black Dreiberg shows the coat of arms of the Benedictine Abbey of Seeon and has been featured in the coat of arms of the Seeon community since 1970. The monastery symbol in the municipal coat of arms indicates the close connection; The village of Seeon was part of the Hofmark monastery until secularization in 1803 . Seeon Abbey was also wealthy in the wider area and played an important role as a land and court rulership. The winged fish is the heraldic animal of the local aristocratic family of Truchtlachinger, who from 1120 until their extinction in 1490 can be proven in the sources as noble free in the service of the Ortenburgers , the archbishops of Salzburg and the Bavarian dukes. The winged fish also indicates the Truchtlaching part of the municipality. The municipality's coat of arms with waves, bridge, lake leaf and fish results in a picture composition that speaks for Seeon-Seebruck several times. ”The municipality has had the coat of arms since the merger in 1980.
