history

In the eastern part of the Seilerberg on the southern outskirts of Freiberg, the first houses were built in the early 1930s in the style of a garden city . Cooperative housing construction began in 1954 on " Johannes R. Becher -Weg", today located in the "Hinter dem Bahnhof" district. A similar development can be found today in the southern part and in the area of ​​"Thomas-Mann-Straße". In general, the district has loose buildings. The “Karl-Günzel-Grundschule” in the southern part of the district received a completely new building in 2011. There is also a nature kindergarten in the quarter.
