history

Seal mark of the community Langenrinne in the administrative authority Freiberg

Until 1336 the area was owned or as a fief of the noble family Honsberg . The place was first mentioned in a document in 1425 as “zcu dem Rinnewege” and “on the long channel” was first mentioned in 1643. The name can be traced back to a path that extends along the Münzbach. Like other towns around Freiberg, mining was also involved here. Two of the most important huts in the Freiberg district were located directly in Langenrinne , the Mittlere Münzbach Hut (also St. Erasmus Hut) and the Untere Münzbach Hut. They can be traced between 1363 and 1798. There are no more traces. The most important mines were Junge Hohe Birke and Prophet Jonas.

Around 1791 a Vorwerk was mentioned in Langenrinne , which was mentioned in 1875 as a chancellery property. There are no more traces of this today. The manorial rule over Langenrinne was with the council of the city of Freiberg. It was not until 1839 that the place became an independent rural community , but was still subject to the jurisdiction of Freiberg. Until 1856, Langenrinne was part of the Freiberg district office of the Electoral Saxony or Royal Saxon district . From 1856 the place belonged to the Freiberg judicial office and from 1875 to the Freiberg district administration .

On July 1, 1950, the municipalities of Zug and Langenrinne merged to form a new municipality of Zug, which became part of Freiberg in the Chemnitz district (renamed Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ) as a result of the second district reform in the GDR in 1952 . This was continued as the Saxon district of Freiberg from 1990 and merged into the district of central Saxony in 2008. With the incorporation on February 1, 1994, the municipality of Zug became a district of the city of Freiberg. Since then, Langenrinne has been one of five districts in the Zug district.
