history

Adelholzen is one of the oldest spas in Bavaria. According to legend, the source is said to have been discovered by a Roman legionnaire named Primus. Records by the doctor Georgius Bopp from 1629 indicate that there was already a lively bathing activity in Adelholzen "a hundred years ago". In the same year Adelholzen was raised to a noble court mark , which also had lower jurisdiction . In 1695 the architect and builder Caspar von Zuccalli bought Bad und Hofmark, where he died in 1717. In 1840 the castle and the adjacent buildings were destroyed by fire and not rebuilt. Today the Kurhaus stands on the site of the castle .
