The Río Guarguallá is a 30 km long right tributary of the Río Chambo in the province of Chimborazo in central Ecuador .

River course

The Río Guarguallá rises 18 km west of the Sangay volcano in the Cordillera Real . The headwaters are at an altitude of about 3850  m . The Río Guarguallá flows 20 km in a predominantly north-northwest direction through the mountains. Then he turns to the west and later to the northwest. The Río Guarguallá finally flows 6 km northeast of the town of Cebadas into the Río Chambo, which flows north.

Hydrology

The Río Guarguallá drains a 190 km² area on the western flank of the Cordillera Real. The mean discharge of the Río Guarguallá about 2.5 km above the mouth is 5.8 m³ / s.
