Allessa (* January 2, 1979 in Graz as Elke Kaufmann ) is an Austrian pop singer and veterinarian .

Life

Allessa grew up with her mother in Raaba . After attending general secondary school and graduating from high school , she began studying psychology at the University of Vienna in 2004 .

She began her musical career in 1998 in the girl group C-Bra she founded , with which she landed three hits in the Austrian charts. After the formation broke up, she became the singer of the pop band Rapublic , which was twice in the top 10 of its home country with cover versions of Italian classics and also achieved gold status with Ti amo '98 . When this band broke up, Allessa moved to Spain for a year, where she worked as a DJ and live singer. After her return to Austria, she toured for several years as a singer for well-known cover bands.

In the summer of 2006 she received a recording contract with Sony BMG Austria and began working on her solo debut album, which was released in Austria in July 2007 and reached number 42 in the charts. In February 2008 she entered the German hit airplay charts with her single Der Himmel weint Tonight . In 2012 she returned with her second album Allessa , which surpassed the success of the first album and rose to number 19 in the Austrian charts.

In December 2018 Allessa became a member of the charity project Schlagerstars für Kinder and recorded the song Suddenly with the group . The campaign by Schlagerplanet Radio and the SOS Children's Villages collects money for children in need with the Christmas song.
