Guntram Lins (born April 3, 1938 in Satteins ) is a former Austrian lawyer and politician ( ÖVP ). Lins was a member of the Vorarlberg regional government from 1984 to 1994 as a regional councilor .

Life

After studying law at the University of Innsbruck , Lins was a lawyer in Bludenz and from 1980 to 2004 a member of the committee of the Vorarlberg Bar Association . Between 1984 and 1994 he was finance and cultural advisor to the Vorarlberg state government . He then returned to his law firm in Bludenz.

Guntram Lins was initially responsible for the finance, building construction and legal departments during his tenure as regional councilor in the Vorarlberg state government . In 1987 he was also entrusted with the cultural department, whose open and liberal leadership by Lins was not only a benchmark and a role model for his successors but also for the Vorarlberg Greens and the SPÖ Vorarlberg as opposition parties in the Vorarlberg state parliament .

The longtime, twice married, once divorced ÖVP politician recently caused a stir in the media with his repeated demand to legalize cannabis .

In autumn 2005 Guntram Lins was awarded the Great Golden Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria : “ Federal Chancellor Schüssel praised Lins as a role model in many relationships. As the State Finance Councilor, he had managed to achieve a balanced budget over ten years. As a cultural politician, he again set very important impulses for development in Vorarlberg , especially for the Kunsthaus Bregenz and the development of the Bregenz Festival . On the occasion of his laudation in the Federal Chancellery, Schüssel also emphasized the refreshing intellectuality of the honored. "

Guntram Lins still holds functions in supervisory boards (e.g. chairman of the supervisory board of the Bundestheater Holding , supervisory board of " Pflegemanagement GmbH 'Benevit" ") as well as culturally and socially committed associations (" Philosophicum Lech "," Aktion Zusammenarbeit ").
