Appen musiziert was a voluntary benefit event in Germany that was founded in 1990 by Rolf Heidenberger. The event took place on the sports grounds of TuS Appen - in Appen , a municipality in the Pinneberg district in Schleswig-Holstein . All proceeds were donated to children with cancer and other seriously ill children. The last event of this kind for the time being took place on the 25th anniversary on September 20, 2015. In the process, all visitor numbers were broken, so for the first time more than 14,000 paying visitors came to the charity event and a total of around 30,000 to the event site, where World Children's Day was taking place at the same time .
General
The organizer of the “Appen musiziert” benefit event was the Appen volunteer fire department . All proceeds from the event were donated to children with cancer and other seriously ill children in Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , Hamburg , North Lower Saxony and North Brandenburg . The participating artists are on a voluntary basis and therefore do not receive any fee.
The radio stations NDR , R.SH , AlsterRadio and Radio Nora broadcast event announcements and some broadcast live. The NDR television magazine “ Schleswig-Holstein Magazin ” supported “Appen musiziert” with reports.
history
The first time "Appen makes music"
In March 1990, Rolf Heidenberger, at that time managing director of EDEKA-Fleischwerk Nord, an active member of the Appen volunteer fire brigade, longstanding chairman of the Appen fire brigade and founder of the Appen women's choir, had the idea of initiating an event with hobby musicians from the Appen community . Rolf Heidenberger's volunteers and firefighters rounded off the event with coffee, cake and drinks. This was preceded by the leukemia of the daughter of a Fleischwerk employee, for which Heidenberger had an in-house typing campaign carried out in 1991.
