Carlo von Tiedemann (* 20th October 1943 as Carl Ferdinand Hanns-Joachim Franz Friedrich von Tiedemann in Stargard , Pomerania ) is a German moderator .

Life

Carlo von Tiedemann is the son of Lieutenant General Carl von Tiedemann (1878–1979) and his third wife Fides von Tiedemann born. von Kleist (1910–1980) and thus a distant relative of the writer Heinrich von Kleist . After attending school with moderate success, he first completed an apprenticeship as a publishing clerk at Axel Springer Verlag before he began a two-year traineeship at Cuxhavener Allgemeine . He then worked for four years as a journalist for the Hamburger Abendblatt before he went to Buenos Aires as a correspondent for the Springer International Service (SAD) for three years . Since 1971 he has been working for the Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR).

Von Tiedemann was married from 1980 to 1988 and has been living with his current partner, whom he married in October 2012, in Quickborn in Schleswig-Holstein since 1998 . Three daughters and one son resulted from three relationships.

Von Tiedemann had serious health problems; in his youth he survived polio , which was associated with long hospital stays; he also suffered from two brain tumors. He later hit the headlines because of alcohol and cocaine excesses and last warned - against the background of his own experience - publicly against gambling addiction and over-indebtedness .

In addition, von Tiedemann arranged various radio programs for the North German Broadcasting Corporation. Until 1997 he moderated at NDR 2, since 1997 at NDR 90.3. There he is the presenter of the program “Hamburg am Mittag” on weekdays and on Saturdays on the show “Große Freiheit”.

In 1980 Carlo von Tiedemann also recorded a record: Monte Carlo von Tiedemann (published on Philips).

From 1992 to 1998 he also worked as a stadium announcer in the Hamburger Volksparkstadion at home games of Hamburger SV .
