Show & Co. with Carlo

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Show & Co. with Carlo was a 90-minute entertainment show on ZDF with Carlo von Tiedemann from 1984 to 1986 .

Naming

On January 21, 1984, Carlo von Tiedemann announced in the 1983 hit parade that his own new program would soon begin on ZDF, in which he would present a lot of music, but also welcome guests for conversation. And because the audience wanted to be able to take part in the search for a name for the new show concept right from the start, he asked them to send their suggested titles by postcard to the ZDF entertainment department in Mainz. She chose the title “Show & Co. with Carlo” from the large number of letters.

history

Carlo von Tiedemann welcomed German and international stars from March 29, 1984. From the 7th episode on, the show got the additional phrase “Made in Germany”. With this subtitle, the Hamburg entertainer realized a new concept. He wanted to show in his show that German music with its composers, producers, lyricists and singers does not have to hide from the international offer in terms of quality and diversity. In addition to German rock and pop music, German products, patents and inventions were also presented. Other personalities, including Claudia Leistner , Sandy Burton and Björn Ulvaeus ( ABBA ), found space on Carlo's couch alongside stars from the German and international pop and hit scene.

The end of the show

The 11th edition of the show should actually be broadcast on August 21, 1986, live in the ZDF program, from Hanover. But this broadcast did not take place because the program was canceled shortly before the scheduled broadcast date. The show ultimately failed because of its broadcast slot: It ran on Thursdays at 7.30 pm alternating with “ Dalli Dalli ” and “ The Great Price ” and therefore had to compete with these shows. Shortly after it was suddenly canceled, the program was replaced by the new game show " Your mission please ".
