Audrey Landers
Audrey Landers (* 18th July 1956 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania as Audrey Hamburg ) is an American actress , pop singer , composer and songwriter .
biography
Audrey Landers is a daughter of Ruth Landers and the two-year older sister of Judy Landers, who is also an actress. The best-known role of the German-American was that of the aspiring singer Afton Cooper in the television series Dallas (1980-1984). One of her most memorable roles was that of Val Clarke in the 1985 film A Chorus Line .
Not just in Dallas , but in real life, Audrey Landers began a career as a singer. Her biggest hit was Manuel Goodbye in 1983 , which reached the top 10 in Germany and number 3 in France. Honeymoon in Trinidad , Little River and Playa Blanca were the other successes of the American parallel to her time in Dallas . Some of their songs were cover versions of the hits Silverbird , Fernando or San Francisco . Landers, which produces in Germany, was unable to expand its success to the important markets of Great Britain or its home country, the United States, so its popularity was limited to Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. In the 1990s she collaborated with German artists like Bernhard Brink , with whom she recorded the duet Today I thought of you in 1997 .
Audrey has been married to Donald Berkowitz since May 1988 and is the mother of twins. Together with her son Daniel Landers , Audrey has appeared more often on German television since 2004. In September 2004 the single Because we all see the same sun was released in a duet with Daniel, in August 2005 the album traces of a summer with exclusively German-language hits was released.
