Horst Jüssen

Horst Jüssen (born January 10, 1941 in Recklinghausen ; † November 10, 2008 in Munich ) was a German actor , director , cabaret artist and author .

Life

Jüssen grew up in Husum . After graduating from a business school, he trained as a banker . Then he went to an acting school . From 1963 he had engagements at theaters in Berlin , Hamburg , Munich , Cologne and Düsseldorf and made 24 theater tours. He played both in tabloids and in serious plays, including by William Shakespeare , Tom Topor, Friedrich Schiller , Wolfgang Borchert and Molière . From 1969 until it was dissolved in 1972, he was a member of the Munich Lach- und Schießgesellschaft along with Dieter Hildebrandt , Klaus Havenstein , Jürgen Scheller and Ursula Noack .

From 1976 to 1977 he played the work-shy lover Adolar von Scheußlich in the ARD clime series Klimbim . In 1990 he played a leading role in the comedy series The dear relatives . From May 2004 he went on a tour with the old Klimbim Ensemble with the piece he wrote, The Klimbim Family Lives , in which 320 performances were given. Jüssen had guest appearances on many television series, including Derrick , Homicide and Florida Lady .

From 2001 onwards, Jüssen appeared twice a year as “Preuße vom Dienst” with the Chiemgauer Volkstheater in TV recordings on Bavarian Radio . Jüssen was awarded the Adolf Grimme Prize and also appeared as a book author. His third novel, Joseph Satan , was published in February 2007 . For his children's play Kaspar und der Löwe Poldi he received the Brothers Grimm Prize of the State of Berlin . He made a stage version of Gerhart Hauptmann's novella Wanda and arranged plays by Shakespeare, Molière and Ben Jonson .

Jüssen was married to the pop singer Lena Valaitis from 1979 and had a son with her. He last lived in Munich. Since the end of 2007, Jüssen, who had been a heavy smoker for 45 years, suffered from lung cancer , to which he succumbed on November 10, 2008.

His grave is located in the Grünwald forest cemetery near Munich.

In 1984 Horst Jüssen released a single called KruzcinsKi with the title Das war’s .
